From what I'm hearing, BYOD is working out for most schools. I'm wondering if MCSS is working toward this concept since money for technology is so scarce. I think we would see an increase in student engagement. One video I viewed mentioned that the at risk students performed better and completed more assignments.
I think you are completely correct that many, if not most, students will benefit. Problem with BYOD is that what f they don't have a personal device. I think that is why school systems are purchasing it themselves. That is the only way to insure everyone has a device. But, we have to start somewhere because mcss is a long way from providing all students with a laptop or similar device.
