Infographics

I found this when I was doing some research.  We discussed this at our last Technology class session.

Thanksgiving Break and Video Games

Thanksgiving break was a great time to spend with family and friends.  Black Friday shopping was fun and some good deals were found to begin the holiday shopping.  The stomach bug that attacked the family was no fun and resulted in us missing work on Monday, but now we're all in full recovery.

My son loves video games...Xbox to be exact.  We got him a PlayStation when he was young and as the next best thing hit the market we found ourselves in search for it or the "just released" games.  As a parent you wonder the effects that gaming may have on a child.  I found this video on TED and would like to share.  Very interesting.  Enjoy!

Our Lego Robotics team competed yesterday at Hampton Cove Middle School and placed 3rd in Top Performance and placed 1st as Champions.  They have worked hard all year!

Remembering to Blog

Sorry for not blogging sooner this week.  My son came home from Auburn and we had family at our house all weekend.  A very great weekend, but now getting ready for the week.  I am excited about what we're learning in this Technology PLU.  I enjoyed being able to show my son some things I've learned... and I thought he was so techie!

BYOD

From what I'm hearing, BYOD is working out for most schools.  I'm wondering if MCSS is working toward this concept since money for technology is so scarce.  I think we would see an increase in student engagement.  One video I viewed mentioned that the at risk students performed better and completed more assignments.

Symbaloo

In our PLU Technology class, No Administrator Left Behind Technologically, we learned how to create a webmix in Symbaloo.  I'm in the beginning stages, but it's a lot of fun.
